Reminder: Proper Documentation

It is noted that some companies are NOT using consignment notes (airway bill) for their shipment. Instead, the just make use of the Shipper's Delivery Note number.

You may do what you want (saving cost of printing CN?):-
1.You must manifest your shipment.
2.You must state the weight of your shipment
3.You must stamp on the DO your company marking, so that we know where the shipment came from
4.Unless we know who send the particular shipment, we may put on hold and NOT deliver.

Since it is DO copies, who should we retrun the DO to?

Please, therefore, see that proper documentation is given to your shipments. TQ

Thanks to the TEAM workers at NTB for winning this years award for being the 'Champion' keeping up the most up todate information on our GET computerised program.

Behind this is the hard work, and seriousness in serving our clients, and also meeting the expectation of all network stations. Prompt delivery, prompt report, and prompt return of POD copies.

It was no easy task to main 'the best' for two consecutive appraisal. 2007 & 2009 appraisal and award at the company regional dinner in 2008 and also in 2010.

Unique Situation

How would you deliver a document to a location, closed up, no signboard, and no people qround you? A unique situation. Address correct! In order not to waste my trip to the place, i called the phone number given.

Someone answered on the other end. I was told it is the correct address. I asked how could i deliver the mail. Suddenly a window on the first floor opened and a basket was lowered down. I was asked to place the document in the basket. They returned the POD to me after they had signed with the same basket.

This is NTB's commitment of delivery services.

Telok Medan

Where is Telok Medan? It is just a kampong along Jalan Taiping, nearer to Semanggor in Perak. To deliver just a small parcel to this place, needs a phone contact. Further more we need the cooperation of the consignee to come and meet the van near some popular land mark.

Few attempts but failed to make contact---voice mail.
Finally assigned just a man to try for the last time. Driving all the way cost money.Not to mention a few attempts.
Waited near to SK Teluk Medan but the consignee failed to turn up.

My fellow network friends, NTB had done its best. If item is not delivered or delayed in delivery, please bear with our situation. The best is NOT to accept consignment going to remote outskirt kampong region.

Wasted Effort---Delivery Not done

On 7/7/2010 I made a special arrangement for documents to be sent to Selama Perak for delivery. The journey to and fro takes some one and a half hours driving. In cluding time to locate for the consignee, waiting time etc will take a total of at least two hours just to deliver one or two documents.

The journey also cost about RM20.00 petrol.

However, due to bad addresses, unreachable phone contacts we failed to deliver the mails. What a wasted effort. Therefore, if ever anyone wanted to deliver documents to Selama Perak, make sure phone contact number is valid and address is complete.

It is a real effort driving along that remote country road. We go to such a place only 3 times a week at the most.

MILES Members' delivery services

Many of MILES' member companies use to send their consignments for NTB delivery. However, some only have such mails and parcels occasionally. Nevertheless, we need to charge them for delivery services. But the amount is so small that we just could not waste time making out invoces and waiting for payment.

It is our hope that those who intended to make use of NTB Delivery Services, please make advance deposit (prepaid) so that we can deduct from it.

Can member companies of MILES please do something about it.

Proper Documentation

Of late NTB use to receive some parcel consignments without any proper manifest and consignment notes. Even marker pen writing on each carton is in small red ink writings.

Instead of delaying our delivery, we made out our own CN to get the consignee to chop & sign. However, this is no good solution to it. And sure enough, yesterday one carton arrived without any paper at all. From the DO copy we can guess who it was from, and where it was meant to deliver to. Is this how it works??? How would accounting be?

Therefore, it is our reminder that ALL consignments must be properly labelled and attach with CN and come with manifest copy. Otherwise NTB reserves the right to hold back such consignments.

Whose Parcel? Where is the paper ?

This parcel arrived at NTB on 18/3 without any manifest and CN. Though we manage to see the consignee on the cover, we are NOT suppose to call.Anyway we have no idea which courier service send out this parcel.

This can happen in transhit, the paper if not properly packed can be peeled off. Drop off. It is important to label the sending station's information on parcel cover.

So unless someone is searching for it, there is a slim chance it can be recovered. Therefore, please do not allow such thing happen to your consignment.

Sungai Kecil Ulu

This is Batu 26 1/2 Sungai kecil Ulu, Bandar Baru,Kedah.

No address given. However, the consignment came from Labuan. Urgent. Medicine for the mother.

Thank goodness, we have the telephone contact. So we called. Poor lady could not come and collect from Nibong Tebal.

My men had tried but could not locate.

I made an extra effort to locate the place. Goodness, it is far from NT and is a house off the main road. The path leading in is the same path you have to reverse out your vehicle.

The poor lady was appreciative. Thus the consignment was delivered.

Kindly provide telephone contact if you want your consignment to reach the consignee. NTB will try its best to deliver.

How do you expect your dispatch AGENT to contact you regarding your problem mail?
How fast can you provide a solution to your problem mail?

Courier services ensures your mails reach the consignee in the shortest time. Otherwise a great lost can be incurred.

How would like your disptach agent to treat your problem mail?Discard them? No way. Then how? provide a contact----phone, email, etc. and before you use the agent, provide comprehensive information regards your return mail---linehaul, and packing etc.

So everybody, improve yourselves for 2010 and have a good time making more business in this season.
