Network Contact and Addresses
NTB is doing dispatch services for clients. We are not part of the network of the client company. Therefore we need to know how we could redirect MISROUTED consignment to the correct destination.
Will those who make use of our dispatch services please provide us with a list of your network email or addresses. In our hand we have a number of problem mails and consignments yet to be redirected.
If you want your company to excel in this service industry, please ensure each station has its email address for communication and instant information.

PACKING REMINDER
Of late we received some parcels from some multiple packing consignments. The consignment arrived with shortage. However, no CN number was written on those which arrived at the station.
No address was found on the consignment.
Even the manifest did not carry the consignee's name and address.
We only know through the manifest and also the marking on the consignment that there are a few more to arrive.
Please kindly remind those who are doing the packing to follow standard packing instruction to pavoid having missing parcels.

Main Manifest for Stations
Of late we notised that linehaul just drop their mail bags and parcels and move on their journey. Had a good talk about Summarised Manifest copy to each station, drivers said it is almost impossible to do so. Is it so?
Aftwer much thought, may we suggest this for your consideration:-
Linehaul operator can print ready form for their driver and allow the driver to fill in the blank upon arrival at a particular station.

Proper Documentation
1.Each mail bag should contain the exact number of mails as listed in its Manifest.
Upon arrival from linehaul, receiving station must cross check to ensure that the mails and the Manifest list tallies.
2.Linehaul should be given a master manifest copy indicating the number of mail bags and parcels to be dropped at a particular station.
Receiving station may want to keep a record of bags and number of parcels inbound on that particular day. This ensures easy tracing when there is an argument about missing or extra bag etc.
3.Some courier services insisted that POD copies should be returned to sending station with the week. Others return the POD copies on the next day. However, some keep until end of the month. POD copies is a very important proof of delivery.
4. Daily Runsheet is another good proof of delivery. Try as much as possible, keep the runsheet for three months.....to back up any quiries in the near future.

Unpredictable Weather

Nowadays we got unpredictable weather daily. This has hampered both delivery and pick up. So please bear with us if any of your consignment is delayed.
Roads leading to some fishing villages, and even to Selama Perak is also flooded. Our man were turned back yesterday due to flood.

Multiple Parcels Parking
Of late we received an increase in parcels delivery.However, we also notice there is a need to improve your packing.
1.Making sure you have Consignee Address on every single parcel.
2. Making sure that you number your parcels too. eg if you have 8 parcels for one CN and destination, mark 1/8, 2/8 3/8...8/8 on your parcels.This will ensure the linehaul drops the correct number of parcels at its destination. It also help the receiving station make a quick check on inbound consignments.

Pre-Alert Special Instruction
Of late we notice that some clients jotted down some special instruction on the CN copy meant for delivery to consignee. It is good and necessary.However, it can be over looked at times. Therefore, we would prefer that sending station give a pre-alert instruction to Mr.Khor at expressntb@yahoo.com.

Phone Number ---A Strong reminder
Recently we notice many of our clients have forgotten to include phone contact for their shipment sent to us for delivery.
As such, a number of the shipment were delayed in delivery. Some could not be located at all.
Therefore, we hope all clients remind the shippers to include phone contact number for all their consignments.

Request Pick up
Initially it was only an arrangement for delivery services, However, of late there seems to the need for request pick up (RP) for some of the clients.
It is a service required by our clients. As such there must be an arrangement for information communication.
1.Make use of email at expressntb@yahoo.com
2.You can also make arrangement with a fax copy to 04-5932144
3.Information must reach NTB by 2pm.(Cut off time)
Information must include:
1) Name of requesting station (company. e.g SPC Kepong etc)
2) Name of pick-up compnay ,i.e your client.
3)Complete address, telephone contact and also the person to contact.
4)Mention if it is a document or a parcel pick-up.

A Must In Courier services
Hi,
I hope all network members who had prefered our delivery services will send us their email addresses. Just write it down under comment section.
If possible download skype and use it as an instantaneous communication tool for inter stations dialogue.
It is cheaper and more convenience to have an email for this business.

Will You Do It?
Pulau Aman is a off shore island in the Penang Channel. It has a small population of fishermen and their family members. The main products from this island is Belachan and Chincadok and also dried prowns.
There is a small Sekolah Kembangsaan in the island. The teachers travel from mainland to the school on the island by the small speed boat. There is also a bigger speed boat (the one in the picture) that takes people to Pulau Jerjak, another island near by.
To travel to the island one must be prepared to spend time waiting for the ferry---small speed boat. If too many people you just have to wait for 2 more hours for the next trip. To come back from the island is also a big problem. Waiting is a tough game.
Express NTB was compelled to provide the service to pick up a return part from the Sekolah kembangsaan on the island. We have to recruit a temporary helper to go over to the island. A young girl and her friends were willing to fo it.
We send them from Nibong Tebal to Batu Kawan Jetty and waited from 10.30 till 12.30 for the ferry. At that time we notice the Ferry for Pulau Jerjak with many Engineers from China travelling in it.
When the two girls were gone in the small speed boat, we went about some other works nearby. We returned to pick them up at 3.20pm and by the time we reached Nibong Tebal again the day is almost over.
Will you provide such pick up services? or delivery services? NTB hopes this is the first and also the last time for it.

POD copy is always returned at the end of the month.
However, upon request it can be scan and email to you. Nevertheless, if you do not have any email account, we will not send or fax to you. We can only show you on this blog.
You can not expect fax copy with such delivery arrangement and poor payment schedule. We cannot serve you for free!
We hope those clients who value our delivery services can arrange prompt payment.Do not forget we do not have any minimum charge on you too. It's just a services to network team members.

Bad Address without Phone contact
Of late we received lots of mail from Letter-Shop Sdn.Bhd. for our dispatch. Regret to say that most of the mails from Letter-Shop could not be delivered.
Most of them had bad address: incomplete and no phone contact. There was no way we could locate and get in touch with the consignee.
Further more a number of them were not our delivery. There was no backup email to discuss the matter. We will try to deliver some of them after the Chinese New Year seasons. In fact, many of the consignee (companies) were already shut down for CNY.
Can we remind all our clients to provide us with email address for communication and discussion or report of problem mail etc. Thanks.

Phone contact and good address please
Many courier companies miss out to include the phone contact number for the consignee. In fact, this is very important. Riders would not waste time going second and third time to look out for the consignee because he is not in. Our every trip must be a close case----mail delivered. Thus it is important to include phone number.
Further more, many shippers ( and courier personnel) are not careful to include full address for the consignee. Bad address will only cause unnecessary delay for the mail.
We hope all our clients and network teams will look into this.

Thousand Apology
Of Late the telekom cable in front of our office was stolen.(The second time ). This caused much inconvenience to all my clients and network members.
Many could not contact us due to line and internet down time. Very sorry. We manage to serve many of our clients with three handphones running.
